Ted Widen

Ted Widen brings more than four decades of hands-on boating experience and deep industry knowledge to SeaNet’s Great Lakes expansion. A lifelong Chicago-area boater, Ted has navigated everything from Lake Michigan and Chicago inland lakes to running both sailboats and powerboats down the inland river system starting on the Chicago River to the Mississippi River to the Tennessee–Tombigbee Waterway to the Gulf of Mexico and on to Florida.

Ted is widely recognized in the Chicago boating community as the founder of the iconic Chicago Scene Boat Party, the largest organized boating event on Lake Michigan for over 25 years. His longstanding presence on the water and strong relationships within the local boating market have made him a trusted resource for owners, buyers, and industry professionals alike. In addition to his event leadership, Ted owns and operates a successful Chicago-based charter boat company hosting more than 100 charter groups each summer. He is also a licensed yacht broker, providing clients with expert guidance in yacht sales and ownership strategy.

As SeaNet’s Chicago and Lake Michigan Sales Manager, Ted is leading the launch and growth of SeaNet’s fractional ownership program throughout the Great Lakes, bringing a professionally managed, turnkey ownership model to one of the most dynamic boating markets in the country.
